Amtrak Train Derails in Ventura County After Collision, 14 Suffer Injuries.
Crews were working all night to clear the derailed Amtrak train.
On Wednesday, June 28th, an Amtrak passenger train carrying approximately 198 guests collided with an irrigation truck on the tracks in Moorpark, around 40 miles from Burbank.
The train was traveling from Los Angeles to Seattle. The collision caused the train to derail.
As of the publishing time, 14 people on the train were hospitalized with injuries. The driver of the irrigation truck was transported to a trauma center with more critical injuries.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office is still investigating.
