More than 50 people injured in collision between Los Angeles Metro and USC bus

A harrowing collision unfolded today in South Los Angeles, involving a Metro light rail train and a University of Southern California (USC) shuttle bus. The incident occurred at the intersection of Watt Way and Exposition Boulevard in the Exposition Park neighborhood around noon, local time.
According to reports from the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), at least 55 individuals sustained injuries in the crash. Among them, two people were transported to a local hospital in serious condition, while 16 others were transported in fair condition. Additionally, at least 37 individuals received treatment at the scene.
The Metro train, part of the E Line route, was headed southbound when the USC shuttle bus crossed into its path, leading to the collision. Miraculously, no children were among those transported to the hospital.
“Metro offers its sympathies to those injured during this accident,” stated the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority in a statement issued today.
